While speaking in a programme organised in connection with the interaction with Hotel & Restaurant Association,Katra (HRAK) wherein representitives of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu Region (PHDCCI) were also present, Chairman cum Managing Director J&K Bank R K Chibber said that Tourism is the back bone of J&K economy and J&K Bank will leave no stone un turned in its revival and will act as major facilitator  in getting this sector reach to its peak and would remain always ready for any help at any point of time.

           Opening remarks of  the programme were made by the Zonal Head Udhampur Anand Pal Singh who eloborated in detail the activities of the bank.

             Rakesh Wazir President Hotel & Restaurant Association,Katra  & Co-Chairman PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu Region said that J&K Bank is the back bone of J&K economy and the level of presence of J&K Bank can be judged from the fact that when we talk about banking in J&K state particularly in rural areas,people relevate it to J&K Bank only and J&K Bank too has left no stone un turned for bringing economy of the state on track and it  has helped people by doing liberal financing and by providing other Tailor made schemes and requested him that it be continued in future as well with more energy and zeal and requested for a mass compaign with regard to new incentives enabling their utilization in full and  further said that initiatives under social responsibility scheme be broadened further besides wide publicity of the bank through different mediums including participation in Tourism events like Navratra Festival,publicity materials,Bank calenders,good looking bank buildings etc.

           Vikrant Kuthiala Chairman PHDCCI Jammu Region  and Former Director J&K Bank while speaking emphasized that in all the times the J&K Bank has proved to be main pillar whether it is concerning government or for people of J&K and with the abolition of 370 where new investments will come, will bring competition as well for the state entrepreneaurs and thus in those circumstances the role of the bank even becomes more because for competing them ,the modernization and diversification of the existing units  vis-a vis establishment of new units is very important and asked for quick disposal and liberal financing on the part of the bank.

         Shyam lal Kesar Chairman of HRAK asked for continuing of people friendly approach as it used to have in bank with more aggression because in the next competitive scenario even the banking in the state will become more competitive.

         Kushal Magotra President Hotel & Restaurant Association,Patnitop asked for opening of J&K Bank’s ATM counters besides a full fledged branch of the Bank at Patnitop.

         Virender Kesar Sr.Vice President HRAK and Katra Head PHDCCI raised the demand of the opening of the new ATMs of the Bank at Katra main Bazar besides giving of more powers to Katra branches.

         Mr.Chibber listened each and every point of the Industry people patiently and assured that sympathetic consideration will be given to each and every point and assured that Bank will leave no stone unturned for the development of the industry in the state particularly the Tourism/Service Sector and although the system is very fast as for as  financing and other activities of the bank are concerned but still directions down the line will be passed for expedieting those further.

           He said that it is very important that more and more people should invest in the state  so that maximum employment is generated and the younger generation may get maximum work opportunities in the state itself.
